About

Independent, public interest, digital-first news platform covering regional politics, economic shifts, and social issues in the Pacific.

Our Why

The Pacific Post fills a critical gap by providing independent, online investigative reporting covering regional politics, economic shifts and social issues across the Pacific. Free from the influence of local actors, governments or commercial advertisers, our newsroom exposes systemic corruption in government finances, human rights abuses and the encroachment of transnational organised crime.

We are a young newsroom passionate about the Pacific region and its place in the world. We endeavour to deliver unbiased, deeply researched coverage that champions transparency and accountability, empowering Pacific Island communities with the credible information required to protect their lives and futures.

Vision

To be the Pacific’s most trusted and authoritative platform for independent investigative journalism, driving institutional accountability and empowering regional citizens through fearless, transparent reporting on critical political and economic issues.

Mission

We are committed to producing high-impact, independent investigative journalism that exposes the mismanagement of public finances, documents human rights violations, and uncovers organised criminal networks across the Pacific.

We achieve this through a phased, data-driven approach, securing institutional accountability one investigation at a time. By adhering strictly to our Editorial Code of Ethics and bound by the New Zealand Media Council Principles, we inform citizens, foster cross-border accountability and advocate for systemic justice.

Structure

The Pacific Post is registered as a limited liability company to protect our journalism and operations. While structurally a corporate entity, we function strictly as a not-for-profit social enterprise and public utility for truth. 100% of our revenue is directly reinvested back into holding power to account in the Pacific Islands region.

We operate behind a strict corporate firewall: our investors and grant funders hold non-voting shares, giving them zero oversight, vote or influence over our daily editorial decisions, investigations or public interest reporting. To ensure total independence and accountability, our newsroom adheres strictly to an Editorial Code of Ethics aligned with New Zealand and Pacific media standards.
